I have past experience working as a tutor at degree level, and previous jobs as a teaching assistant, and careers counselor.
Perfect for anyone looking to improve their general essay writing skills and academic work, or someone who is looking for some extra tutoring for their child (including special needs children).
Also ideal for those of you who are looking to develop their understanding of psychological research methods, psychology in general, evolutionary science or neuroscience.
Availability: At present, I am available seven days a week flexibly.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I have recently finished my degree, earning firsts across the board in my final year. This included units such as Neuroscience, Comparative and Evolutionary Psychology, and Educational Psychology.
Tutored a first and second year student, providing advice and knowledge related to biological psychology and employability skills.
I have four months experience as a Voluntary Careers Counselor/Mentor at Shaw Trust. A non-profit organisation aimed at helping disadvantaged individuals find employment. Here I worked one-to-one with clients facing difficulties such as mental health problems, disability, and previous convictions. The support I provided ranged from discussing client issues and confidence building, to skill development sessions and CV and covering letter support.
I worked for six months as a Voluntary Teaching Assistant and Workplace Psychologist at Portsmouth`s special educational needs school, the Mary Rose Academy. I supervised small groups of pupils aged 11-19, providing learning support, general care, and physical activity sessions. I recorded pupil progress and liaised with staff regarding future steps for their learning.
