Anna

Hello! My name is Anna and I`m a mathematics student at The University of Oxford.

After gaining all A*s in my GCSEs, and all A*s in my A-levels (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Music), I started at Oxford University in September. In both GCSE and A-Level Maths I scored highest in my school.

My interest in maths developed when competing in the UKMT maths challenges. I enjoyed using familiar ideas in unfamiliar and interesting ways and achieved the gold award and ‘Best in School’ Prize every year. Following these successes, I was invited to the National Mathematics Summer School at Oxford in year 10 and my love of maths has only grown from there!

When I’m not doing maths, I enjoy performing music. I have studied classical singing, piano and violin, all to a high level, attending the Junior Royal Northern College of Music every Saturday and now hold a choral exhibition at The Queen’s College, Oxford. It is often said that music and maths go well together and I have always found this to be the case.

Experience: I have 4 years experience as a 1-1 maths tutor, and in the past have worked with a range of students, from primary school to A-Level. I now enjoy tutoring GCSE and A-Level, Maths and Further Maths, alongside my studies at Oxford.

I conduct lessons online: over video call and using a shared whiteboard. With the pandemic my university studies have moved online, so at present I would also be happy to tutor in person around the Manchester area.
