I am an experienced teacher of some 23years. My specialism is chemistry having initially worked as a research chemist.I have taught in both primary and secondary schools. I also have taught maths up to GCSE. I have worked in secondary school for some 20years now. I currently work as a chemistry teacher teaching AQA at KS4 and OCR at KS5. I have marked for AQA chemistry at KS4. I have children myself. 1 of which is still in education. Recently I have taught remotely via zoom lessons so I am very experienced with online teaching for both GCSE and A level.
I have tutored on a number of occasions but usually through recommendation and word of mouth in the past. I find that tutoring gives students the opportunities to ask those questions that they may not have felt able to ask at school. A tutor can help students better understand topics and hence boost grades. Having taught for some time I am aware of the problems some students have in motivating themselves or asking their own teachers for further explanation. Knowing the GCSE and A level courses well makes me well placed for understanding where students have the most difficulties in order to help them progress and improve grades.

Availability: I currently work 3 days a week but plan to take up tutoring full time next year and so will be more readily available.

Experience: Have covered most exam boards at `A` level but currently teach OCR at KS5 level and AQA at KS4. I have recently tutored both OCR and AQA at KS5 in chemistry and AQA at KS4 and IGCSE.
