Information about Michele
I am passionate about Literature and I love teaching. I form bonds with my students quite easily and this trust enhances the learning experience. I am particularly invested in providing the environment for learning not only to get top grades but also to connect with the studied texts and enjoy the whole process. This ultimately delivers greater understanding which can only serve in attaining exam success.
We will cover each text thoroughly in order to consolidate the reservoir of contextual information to build upon a student`s writing skills with the goal of them producing more convincing, cogent and compelling essays.
I teach across the different exam boards and will also read through Coursework.
My classes are properly planned and tailored to each student’s strengths and to improve upon areas of weakness.
I am driven and determined and when I take someone on, I am fully invested in their progress and success.
I can be strict and demanding when it is called for but I mostly count on mutual respect to see us through to the exams. This entails handing in work i have asked for or simply being punctual for lessons. Consistency is another rule, for the benefit of getting to the finished line feeling confident.

Experience: I have been teaching Sixth formers for over twenty years, with a decade of that time being spent at a Sixth Form College.
Having lived in different parts of the world; London, Kuala Lumpur, Dublin, Cairo and Aqaba (Jordan) and ending up back in London, I have successfully tutored a wide ranging group of students over the last ten years.
I am aware of the diversity in requirements amongst students as well as where English is not their first language.

Michele has been working with my 17 year old daughter helping her for English A level. Katie is really enjoying her sessions - she enthuses about it when she gets home. She is definitely more confident about her coursework and exams in a few weeks. Michele obviously knows how best to interact with this age group which is great. Would recommend.

Michele became my tutor quite late into my English A-level journey, but it is still one of the best decisions I took regarding my grades. She helped me jump from a C to an A in just five months! Her style of teaching was formal but friendly. Though it made me feel comfortable in her lessons, there was still a strict sense of seriousness that helped me concentrate and develop my ideas. What sets her apart from the rest is that she isn`t trying to coach you into arguing a particular set of points or sharing her thoughts and theories of the texts. Michelle avidly challenges the point of view of her student in an effort to help develop it, rather than diminish it and replace it. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my experience as Michelle`s student, and would recommend it to anyone who is struggling to get their grade up, even though they like the subject. It is never too late!

My daughter has been tutored in English for her A levels by Michele for 5 weeks and so far we have found her to be really excellent. She does a lot of prep work before my daughter arrives and is obviously well prepared for the lesson, with books and resources arranged on the table ready for her arrival. My daughter really enjoys the lessons and always says how nice Michele is when I pick her up. The lessons usually go on for a lot longer than we have paid for. Based on our experience so far, I would highly recommend her as a tutor.
