Hi! My name is Rawan, and I am a doctor based in London. I graduated in Medicine from University College London (UCL) with an intercalated degree in Paediatrics and Child Health. I have been tutoring for more than half a decade (900+ hours), supporting students from primary school through to A-Level and medical school applicants. I specialise in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths, as well as medical school preparation (personal statements, admissions tests, and interview coaching). Having achieved straight A*s at A Level and top grades (A and 9s) at GCSE*, I know first-hand the strategies needed for exam success.

My Teaching Approach:
Every student learns differently, so my sessions are tailored and engaging, usually focusing on 2–3 key concepts per lesson to build mastery without rushing. Memorisation alone isn’t enough. True success comes from being able to apply knowledge in different contexts. That’s why I emphasise exam-style questions, problem-solving, and application-based learning, helping students build both confidence and exam technique. I’m known for being reliable, flexible, and approachable, with many students working with me for several years. I also provide ongoing support outside of lessons via WhatsApp so students always have access to guidance when they need it.

Experience: Having been through the gruelling admissions process for medical school, I understand just how hard it can be to get everything right. With just 1 in 10 applicants getting a place, it has never been tougher. Luckily, I can help with everything from personal statements and interview prep through to admissions tests, having achieved all A* and 9 grades at GCSE and all A* grades at A Level. As your tutor, I will help to bring out that drive and passion that you need to succeed in securing a university place and gaining excellent GCSE & A-Level grades. I also have a lot of experience tutoring 11+ and 13+ students, having worked in tuition centre settings helping children to secure places in the top private and grammar schools. Doing these exams myself provided me with invaluable experiences and tips that I would love to be able to pass on! In my free time, I enjoy martial arts like BJJ and Karate and football and have recently began training for my public speaking diploma after achieving a distinction in my Grade 8 LAMDA.

I understand the feeling of being completely stuck. I`ve felt it many times at various points and it`s nothing to be worried about. Nobody can do it all on their own! Having had experience of tutoring before, I have found that every session needs to be different. Different students learn in different ways, so I like to be flexible with my sessions by collating various resources and designing activities specifically for each session. After teaching for more than 800 hours, I have received many positive reviews from parents and students regarding the structure of my sessions. My general session plan will be to focus on 2-3 specific points to ensure that you have a thorough understanding of all the content and don`t gloss over anything. Unfortunately though, just learning everything and regurgitating it isn`t enough anymore, understanding and applying your knowledge to every situation is essential for picking up those extra few marks that can make all the difference. This is the hard bit but do not despair! That`s precisely why I like to focus on application of knowledge by regularly testing you with exam-style questions to make sure that your knowledge is just as comprehensive as you need it to be.
