Information about Alison
I am 45 and began teaching in 1996, with a 2:1 degree from Warwick University and a PGCE from Cambridge. I have taught English and Drama in both independent and state schools and have an excellent record of results. I commit myself fully to preparing appropriate lessons, setting and marking extra work where desired. I work closely with all parties to try and ensure all needs are met. What`s more, I absolutely love what I do!
Availability: Limited but please contact me as we may be able to work something out.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: Before having children: 10 years experience teaching English and Drama in schools, as well as further time providing personal tuition in Maths, English and Drama.
Currently I also teach two days a week in a Dorset Academy, working only with Year 10 and 11 students, providing valuable intervention to raise achievement. I am also an examiner for AQA.

Alison has been an excellent tutor for my son who is re-sitting his GCSE English paper. She is friendly, reassuring, patient and punctual and knows the AQA English GCSE requirements very well. My son is very happy with the work they are doing and his confidence has increased dramatically since they started working together. I have no hesitation in recommending Alison - she has been brilliant.

Alison is a truly delightful English Tutor for my 16 year old daughter. Alison is always prepared, personable, kind and calm which is exactly what my daughter needs. I would wholeheartedly recommend Alison.
