Hi, my name is Maureen and I teach Maths. I taught in a local college for 5 years and have been a private Maths tutor for the past few years. I find private tutoring very rewarding as I am able to focus on the individual needs of each student. I specialise in GCSE Maths but can also teach Level 1/2 Functional Skills Maths and FSMQs. While working in college I achieved a Grade 1 lesson observation teaching Level 2 Maths. I have also marked exam papers for one of the main exam boards and worked as an invigilator so am confident in my ability to prepare students for exams through study and attitude. I hold the CertEd (Specialising in Numeracy/Maths), have GCSE/GCE qualifications in Maths and Level 4 qualifications in Financial Services.
I want to take the fear out of Maths and help my students achieve more than they thought they could! I charge £20 per hour for Foundation GCSE and £25 per hour for Higher GCSE.
First session is an assessment at a reduced rate of £15 for one hour.
I hold an enhanced DBS check (previously known as CRB) which will be shown at first meeting.
