Information about Hannah

Up until 2021, I taught A level History and Politics at Cheltenham Ladies` College where I was also a housemistress. I have also taught at Westminster and Charterhouse. I have experience teaching from year 7 to year 13 and for preparing pupils for Oxbridge.

I have been an examiner and can offer feedback on examination performance to enable my tutees to progress in their subjects.

I include marking a piece of work and providing extensive feedback as part of the hourly rate. I do not use the session time for this.

Availability: This depends on other clients as I mainly work through agencies.

Experience: In my many years in the teaching profession, I have been a teacher of History, Politics, Religious Studies and English. I have taught a range of syllabi as well as qualifications: I have been involved with the IB, taught the Cambridge Pre U, A level, and I have even taught the American Studies Programme. This diversity of subjects and qualifications highlights how much expertise I have with preparing pupils for examinations.

Most importantly however, the connecting thread throughout these courses has been my individual attention to pupils’ interests. This can be seen especially with respect to advising coursework, and through my subject mentoring. In History, I have become a lead coursework adviser, personally supervising projects from both the IB and A level courses. At Westminster, I gave weekly History Oxbridge sessions to Westminster pupils, as well as to pupils from local state schools. Westminster School has consistently held one of the highest Oxbridge success rates in the country, and I learnt much from my time teaching there about how to prepare applications. I have also been an examiner and am happy to offer one off tutoring to go through examination questions and offer suggestions for improvement. I enjoy helping pupils prepare personal statements and offer interview preparation sessions.
