Information about Anna

During my time as a teacher I have specialised in Law A Level and English.
I completed my degree in Law at the University in Leeds and my teaching degree at Liverpool Hope University. I then went on to teach Law A Level in Manchester. When I started with the students there, the cohort had an ALPS of 7 (scoring in the bottom 10% - 24% of the country). That same cohort of students left the college with an ALPS level 2 which is the top 10% of the country. The AS Law cohort of the same year achieved an ALPS 1 which is the top 1% of all students who sat the exam nationally.
I then went on to hold post as Second in English at a school in Luton before moving to Ilford where i was appointed as Head of Law. During my time as Head of Law I was responsible for a cohort of over 100 students. Again, the year 13 cohort achieved an ALPS grade 2 (the top 10% of the country).

What I hope to exemplify is that I have a track record of improving results. A level law students underperform nationally but I have a vast array of resources designed to assist both during tutoring, in between and afterwards. I am not the type of teacher/tutor to help students study in a monotonous way. As a kinaesthetic learner myself, I am fully aware that being engaged in learning is the key to success and this is what I strive for at every session.

I left teaching in August 2019 as I completed my Barrister Training in London and was called to the Bar of England and Wales. However, I have a passion for teaching and am particularly passionate about assisting students with what is, in my opinion, a very difficult A Level subject. Due to my busy schedule, I take on limited tutees per month who I feel would really benefit from my help.

Availability: Monday - Thursday 7pm-11pm

Willing to travel: 20 miles

Experience: I have experience teaching both the AQA and OCR specifications of the Law A Level.
