Information about Aisha
As an ex semi-professional basketball player I have always maintained a can-do attitude. My resilient and hardworking nature has allowed me to thrive whilst working in South Africa, Nigeria, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia. I am a strategic and creative professional with experience in the Banking and Strategic Communications sectors. My interest in tutoring began in university when I started mentoring undergrads and A-Level students. As a result, I have recently been appointed as a member of their Alumni Advisory Board. As well as coaching basketball and tutoring mathematics, I am heavily involved in a youth club, supporting young peoples banking ambitions and teaching them financial literacy.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I am an engaging, skilled and enthusiastic individual with extensive experience supporting students in meeting academic challenges and preparing for examinations in the area of mathematics. With more than 4 years experience as a Math Tutor I am adept in Key Stage 1-4 mathematics.
As a Business Relationship Manager of a bank, my role is relatively flexible and allows time for me to focus on evaluating students learning capabilities and needs, helping them through assignments, and suggesting new learning techniques. Additionally, I possess strong interpersonal and communication talents to quickly build rapport with students of varying skill levels as well as with their parents.
As the eldest of three brothers, I have always had a passion for helping and supporting the youth. I have helped all three of my brothers (along with cousins and family friends) with maths homework and supported them through their GCSEs. My father has been a maths teacher since I was a teenager and as current Head of Mathematics in his school I am exposed to curriculum changes and updates, which supports my tutoring knowledge.
I first hand have had a maths tutor and have experienced the benefits. I also enrolled in Justin Craig Courses to boost my A-Level maths grades. During my A-Levels I experienced various health issues, which meant I was constantly at GPs or hospitals for a period. As a result, my maths teacher used to stay behind after school with me to assist with my maths whenever I was well enough to do so. She contributed to my A-Level success and she inspired me to ensure I helped young people achieve their mathematic goals.
In my spare time I also coach basketball at Back to Basketball. As an ex semi-professional basketball player, coaching Basketball allows another avenue for me to give back to the youth. I made sure to obtain my Level 1 UKCC for Sport Basketball Qualification. In addition to this, I am a voluntary radio producer for Tribe Urban Radio, where I carry out all required research, ensuring that our guests are reputable within the industry, and all due diligence standards are met. I also run all the social media channels, including content creation, ensuring that our audience is not only engaged, I am also involved in various youth clubs, teaching them both mathematics and financial literacy.
I have always had a passion for numbers and mathematics, evident from my maths GCSE and A level grades. In addition to my experience and personal qualities I have a solid educational foundation and a passion for tutoring.
