Information about Mamun
I recently graduated from The University of Manchester (with First Class Honours) in Engineering. I am planning to begin my PhD in the near future. My particular area of interest is offshore renewable marine energy structures, (this is basically a fancy way of saying offshore structures!!).
I like to see myself as an approachable and accessible guy unlike the typical engineer. My prior teaching experience has allowed me to develop my ability in explaining complex topics in clear and precise manner. In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports and running to keep fit (my aim is to run a marathon in the future). I also enjoy spending time with my friends, just socialising.
I have passed through the modern educational system and understand how it works intimately. I am also aware of the radical shakeup that it is undergoing. With all of this in mind, I will ensure to give you, the tutee, a holistic approach to our private sessions.
I will always remember that your main aim is for you to do well in the exams but at the same time, I will not compromise on you understanding the fundamental principles of Maths and Science. I will attempt to the best of my ability to develop your intellectual intuition which will aid you in your future studies.
I have experience in tutoring the IB qualification and offer mock interview and session for admissions test such as the STEP, MAT and PAT.
Availability: Weekdays and weekends
Willing to travel: 1 miles
Experience: I have many hours of teaching under my belt, both as a teacher and a private tutor. I first got into tutoring after being approached by my neighbour (to tutor her son GCSE Maths), after which I have not stopped. I have since tutored students at both GCSE and A-Level over the past two years. I was also a Teaching Assistant at The University of Manchester, while doing my Masters. The role required me to deliver laboratory sessions for third year undergraduates.
I also have CELTA certificate from Bell Cambridge, which gave me an invaluable opportunity to further understand the student and improve my teaching skills. Another benefit of the CELTA was that it allowed me to English and Maths abroad in Asia while travelling.
