Information about Alex
Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Alex and I graduated last year from Oxford University with a high pass in my MSc in Archaeological Science (Oxford does not offer Merits!). In addition posses a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Anthropology, also from Oxford. I intend to work as a tutor for students who need help with their A-levels, GCSEs and 11+ school entrance exams. My background of mixed science/humanities allows me to understand and teach a variety of subjects encompassing many different disciplines.
In terms of my 11+ exam experience, I was accepted to The Perse School in Cambridge, which is rated amongst the top schools in the country. I am well aware of the rigour of such entrance exams, and can be relied on to aid in the passing of them.
At GCSE I achieved 8 A*s (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, English Language and Literature, Religious Studies and Latin), two As (Maths and French) and at A-level I achieved A*A*AA in History, an Extended Project Qualification, English Literature and Biology respectively.
I would love to help out any students who are struggling with their work at school, or would like extra support with their studies at any level. I am also happy to give advice to A-level students applying for university, especially to Oxford. I am more than willing to give specific interview advice and feedback, as well as teaching presentation skills.
Availability: I am free throughout the week, on any day, be it morning, day or evening.
I can work weekends, but availability may be lessened as I am currently preparing for a PhD course.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am just starting out as a tutor, but I have experience teaching Sixth Form students the process of applying to Oxford, and ways to go about revising for exams while I was in Upper Sixth at The Perse.
I have also briefly taught undergraduates at Oxford parts of the Archaeology and Anthropology course that they were struggling with whilst on my Masters Course.
