Information about Bethan

I have just graduated from the University of Cambridge with a biological Natural Sciences degree and I am currently studying an MSc in Global Health Policy at LSE. I have a strong academic background and achieved an A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths A-Level, as well as eight 8A*s and 3As grades in my GCSEs. I am a hard working individual who is reliable, punctual and I would like to become a tutor.

Availability: I am pretty flexible with my availability. I would prefer to work the weekdays but there is flexibility regarding this.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I worked as a teaching assistant at the Homerton College International Programme. This programme aids the understanding of British culture and language skills for Chinese, Japanese and South Korean university students. I learnt how important mutual respect is between individuals who have varying backgrounds and I was able to develop teamwork skills. As a teaching assistant I aided the teacher to lead classes and often ran group discussions and debates with the students. I was a tutor for Just Work tutoring. I tutored a range of students in biology and chemistry at both GCSE and A- Level over Skype. This required me to communicate with the students and understand what they wanted to gain from the sessions and ensure that I achieved this with my lesson plans and the homework which I set. I was a teaching assistant at Kip McGrath tutoring centre. I provided Maths and English tuition to children from the ages of 4 up to 18. This required patience and good communication skills with both the children and their parents. I was required to quickly learn new content and think of interesting methods to explain the subjects to the children who were a range of abilities.
