I am a fully qualified teacher (PGCE, Oxon, MEd, Bristol). I aim to get the best out of students while at the same time nurturing an interest in the topics covered. I am equally comfortable teaching students who are struggling as I am those that want to achieve the highest grades.

I have recently completed a PhD in education, have taught at university level including running a module on learning/study skills. I have also taught for many years, including as Head of Department in a variety of different school settings including both independent and state secondary schools. This is all valuable experience that I can bring to tutorials in order to help you succeed.

I see the tutoring process as an opportunity to complement and clarify work done in the classroom. Strengthening examination technique and improving confidence is also a priority. I can also, of course, deliver and provide new material if needed. I can provide written feedback with any marked work e.g. essays, examination questions.

Experience: I have 20 years teaching and managerial experience in both the state and independent sectors. I have successfully tutored and taught students at A-level, GCSE, CE and scholarship. I am happy to provide testimonials and references if required. I am also fully DBS checked.
