Emily

My name is Emily and I have been a primary school teacher for 8 years. I have experience in teaching Yr 1 through to Yr 6 but have also tutored for GCSE prep. I enjoy working with children of all ages and believe in a facilitator approach - allowing children to grow in confidence and appreciate their own ability and skills, with gentle guidance and support.
As a tutor, I try to bring a bit of the classroom to the sessions, ensuring that my tutee has all the equipment they need to solve problems and achieve the tasks, but I also bring fun! I like to get to know me tutees inside and out so as to best cater for their needs.

I achieved a 1st in my BA in Primary Education and hold a Masters in Education with distinction which I hope will help me pursue the dream of leading my own setting one day.

I have 2 dogs, Pippin and Brandy, and a baby boy. I enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain climbing and skiing, and listening to music, playing the piano and singing.

Availability: Monday, Thursday and Fridays

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have been teaching Primary age children for 9 years and have worked in various different year groups across a variety of settings. I specialise in English and music but enjoy teaching all subjects!
