I am an English specialist with thirty-eight year’s teaching experience seventeen years as Head of an English department. My degree in English Literature was gained at Aberystwyth University, an institution that I maintain a strong working relationship with. My MA in Literary Theory was achieved at St Mary’s University London.
The subjects I am offering are A level English Literature, A level English Language and the combined English Language and Literature. I am fully familiar with the assessment objectives of each examination board.
Every tutorial will be planned and structured to meet the student’s individual learning objectives. The session is personalized to support the student’s current learning and is targeted for the student to realize their full grade potential.
My rates for A Level tutoring are £40 per hour. The first tutorial will be an assessment to agree the areas for particular focus and to establish the structure of future lessons. There will be no charge for the first tutorial.
I am passionate about my subject and enthusiastic for students to enjoy every session, key, I believe, to good learning.
I am DBS certified and prefer the sessions to be at my home. Parents are welcome to stay during the tutorial and can wait in my lounge with a tea or coffee.
