Information about Julie
I am a maths graduate with a PGCE in Secondary maths. I am passionate about maths, and particularly about inspiring and encouraging young people to gain confidence in their mathematical ability and thus reach their full potential.
Having left classroom teaching in 2021, I now work full time as an online maths tutor - a job which I find enormously fulfilling, as I work with students of all ages and abilities. I plan individual lessons for each student, based on their strengths and weaknesses and the course they are studying in school.
Outside of teaching I have worked in the voluntary sector and in Local Government. I am Mum to 3 grown-up children, and Granny to a toddler!
Availability: I am available 8am to 7pm Monday to Thursday, and 8am to 5pm on Friday.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have experience of teaching across a wide variety of ages.
Having initially trained and taught at secondary level, I took a break while my children were young and then worked for ten years teaching numeracy across KS2 in a large primary school. I have been a marker for KS2 SATs for over 20 years.
I then returned to secondary teaching, teaching students in KS3 and KS4, including Higher Level GCSE classes. I am fully conversant with the Edexcel, OCR and AQA GCSE curricula, as well as the iGCSE and KS2.
I left the classroom two years ago in order to work full time as an online maths tutor.
