The University of Edinburgh
Information about Ellie
I have graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in International Relations and work for a charity between Mondays and Thursdays. I offer online tutoring services on Fridays and, occasionally, some evenings and weekends. I have previously tutored English to students aged between 7 and 17: helping them prepare for the Common Entrance exam, GCSEs and Scottish Highers. My own education means I am also comfortable tutoring History and Politics. I enjoy writing in my spare time and am a columnist for the online publication `The Broad` and the Health and Wellbeing Editor of `The Collective Magazine`. I am a friendly and patient person, who enjoys helping young people to learn and develop new skills.
Availability: I am available on Fridays and have some availability on weekends and evenings.
Willing to travel: 1 miles
Experience: Having formerly worked as a trampoline coach for three years (coaching children aged 3-12) I have a lot of experience in working with children and teaching. I also volunteered as a reading mentor during my last year at secondary school which involved reading and discussing books with year 7 students who struggled with English. I found sharing my enjoyment of the subject a rewarding experience. I have tutored English to a range of students in both West Sussex (where I am currently based) and Edinburgh (where I studied). I am lucky to have two qualified English teachers for parents, and so have a strong and relevant understanding of the English syllabus and a plentiful supply of resources at hand.
