Having completed a PhD in Engineering at Cambridge university I declined the offer of a very well paid job in industry to pursue vocation of classroom teaching. I have since taken a break from classroom teaching to focus on raising my own young children. During this period I have continued to be involved in the education system by working as an examiner for one of the main exam boards (EdExcel).

My PGCE is in Secondary Science (specialising in physics), but my Degree, Masters and Masters and PhD gave me an excellent knowledge and understanding of a range STEM subjects and as such I am able to tutor Mathematics as well as the three science subjects.

I have enjoyed the academic rigour or working with students who are exceptionally able, but gain equal satisfaction from helping students who find learning more of a challenge. As the mother of a child with a learning disability, I now appreciate more than ever the importance of helping a student reach his or her own potential and the self-confidence that builds in the student as (s)he progresses.

Tues 9.30 am - 11.30am
Weds 9.30 am - 2.30pm, 6.30 pm - 7.30pm
Thurs 9.30 am - 11.30am, 8pm - 9pm
Fri 9.30 am - 2.30 pm

3 years experience tutoring Cambridge undergraduates.


Occasional tutoring of GCSE maths students.
Regular Physics GCSE tutoring.

6 years experience working as an examiner for EdExcel - GCSE Physics papers.
