I am passionate about Maths and helping others to improve their skills and achieve their potential. Maths and numeracy are key skills which are useful whatever you want to do in life.

As well as ensuring coverage of all key topic areas through clear teaching and hands-on practice, I help students improve their problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy to achieve the highest exam grades. I offer a well-rounded, interactive approach to developing maths skills and techniques.

My experience in the working world brings the ability to mentor and develop students’ broader life skills alongside subject based teaching.

Availability: Daytime (during school hours)
Post-school 4pm-6pm
Early evening 6pm-8pm
Weekdays only

Experience: I have worked with teenagers and young people for over 30 years as a tutor, youth leader, sports coach, mentor, school governor and charity trustee.

My first degree was an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University followed by an MBA from Cranfield school of Management and professional qualifications in Marketing. I have subsequently used my mathematics in a wide variety of practical situations, giving me a range of real life situations to draw on in my tutoring.

I have over 25 years of senior management experience with a number of major UK companies which gives me a unique combination of experience, expertise and maturity that I brings to my tutoring.

I have been a Vice-chairman of governors for a large independent school for the last 14 years, giving detailed insight into educational needs and challenges. Coupled with 10 years’ experience coaching sport to young people this enables me to relate to a wide variety of students.
