Information about Trudi
I am a dedicated and experienced teacher of English with a genuine passion for the subject. My favourite thing about tutoring and teaching is watching learners develop their own love of literature as they gain confidence. I hold a first class undergraduate degree in English, a PGCE specialising in the post-16 sector, and have six years experience of working as an A level and GCSE English Language and Literature teacher in a busy sixth form college. I have worked with a diverse variety of learners from all sorts of backgrounds, studying for all sorts of reasons. Before teaching, I worked for many years on a newspaper and have developed a keen eye for detail when proofreading essays and have received excellent feedback for my critiques of student work.
I strongly believe that every learner has the ability to succeed in this subject with the right tools for the job and a positive attitude. I know that no two learners will learn in the same way so I am continuously adapting learning activities and resources to fit the learner. I am a friendly, approachable teacher who also believes that learning can and should be an enjoyable, fun experience. I do however, take my job very seriously and would expect my students to be as committed to their success as I am. I worked as a youth-worker for many years and have been particularly successful connecting with learners who have become disengaged from the subject.
