I am a native speaker of Italian, a reseacher, a writer, a traveler and a food lover.
My students describe me as an entusiastic and energetic teacher.
I am a researcher in Italian Literature and Gender studies, exploring female identity and sexuality in Italian Early Modern and Contemporary Literature. I collaborate with several academic journals writing reviews. I have published articles and book chapters on a variety of topics, spanning from representations of female chastity in Italian Renaissance, to motherhood in Contemporary Italian women writers. I co-edited a book on Italian pop music and lyrics and a photography book for a project of research and digitalisation of historical picture of Tuscany, my homeland. I participated to numerous international and interdisciplinary conferences (in Italy, USA, UK and Canada), presenting papers and organizing panels.
I organized cultural events including conferences, lectures, book presentation and photography exhibitions.
I have lived in Italy, USA, Brazil and I currently live in London.
When I am not reading, writing, or scanning old pictures, I am probably cooking an Italian dish while watching tv-series.

Experience: I am a teacher with over 8 years experience tutoring and teaching Italian L2, at a college level and in collaborations with schools and tutoring agencies in the US and in Italy. I have taught learners of different nationalities and backgrounds (American, British, Dutch, Thai, Chinese, Algerian; school and college students, students with special needs, adult learners, military staff). My method is inductive and communicative, my main objective is not teaching a set of vocabulary or grammar rules but making students speak and interact with native speakers. For this reason my classes always include truly communicative and cultural oriented activities.
At Indiana University Bloomington (USA) I was specifically trained in Foreign Language Teaching Methodologies and I have taught Italian L2 classes (any level), Literature and Culture courses, served as instructor and mentor during the Summer Abroad program in Florence. In Italy I have taught Italian L2 classes to a variety of learners in collaboration with tutoring agencies, private and public schools, and I have worked extensively with students with disabilities.
