I`m an experienced language tutor, having taught English and Mandarin Chinese to students in England, China and Italy. I`m currently looking for adult or teenage students who wish to study beginners Mandarin Chinese in the Forest of Dean and Gloucester areas. I`ve spoken Chinese for 8 years, and I have a degree in Chinese and Linguistics from the University of Westminster, and I`m currently enrolled on a part time MA course in Translation.

Before lessons begin, I like to communicate with students about their learning goals to discuss what they want to achieve from the lessons. The curriculum must be discussed to see what exactly students want to learn, for example if they want to study reading and writing as well as speaking and listening.

Lessons will be bilingual, with a focus on communicative skills to practice and strengthen students` knowledge of new grammar and vocabulary.

Availability: Weekday afternoons and evenings

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I have been a language teacher for more than 5 years, teaching Mandarin and English as a foreign language in the UK, China and Italy. I have been employed by a number of language schools in China and Italy, including "Gaoxin No.2 Primary School" in Xi`an, China, and "ispeakenglish" a private language school in Sardinia, Italy.
