Information about Razieh
I`m Razieh. My nickname is Roza. I`m originally from Tehran-Iran but currently I`m living in London. I love teaching, travelling and doing sports. As a teacher, I try to provide some lesson-related fun stories, pieces of poetry, a clip or whatsoever that changes the atmosphere of the classes, refreshes students, and yet, keeps them on the track of learning. Learning through different materials, e.g. books, films, digital devices, also provides students with a hard-to-forget non-tedious learning experience.
"Mutual respect and non-discriminatory behavior are a must in my classes."

Experience: Earlier in my career, I began teaching English as a second language to native Persian speakers. Later on, as I distanced from English teaching and translation and immersed in linguistics, I pursued my love for teaching in teaching Persian to non-Persian speakers. I believe that the principles of teaching languages are similar and same teaching techniques can be applied in classes. Nevertheless, it is the teachers craft to tailor these techniques to the specific needs of the class and the subject of teaching.
I have been teaching for over thirteen years now and teaching is so greatly interwoven to my life that I cannot imagine any other profession other than teaching. Having earned a bachelors degree in English translation, I began my career as an ESL teacher. However, as I pursued my postgraduate studies and PhD in linguistics, and graduated as the top student with an Excellent grade, I grew more interest in teaching Persian to non-Persian speakers. Having the privilege of being a native Persian speaker enables me to teach Persian to non-native Persian learners at all the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
My love to expand my expertise led me to contribute in authoring a textbook at University, with the second volume being currently underway. I have also been writing for Parsiname, which is the only journal for non-Persian learners of Persian language. Further, I have been an examiner of ASPA, the Persian Proficiency test. I shall mention that I have not limited myself to teaching at an academic setting. I hold online classes for non-native Persian learners from all over the world to meet the demands of the recent situation, where face-to-face interactions are not feasible.
