Information about Lawrence
I am currently working in a secondary school in Lewisham. I teach all three sciences through to GCSE and I also teach Physics at A-level. I have been teaching for six and a half years now and have experience marking exam papers. I have been delivering the AQA board`s science GCSE course, as well as their Physics `A` specification at A-level. Of course, I can very well cater for the other exam board`s, however I have most experience with AQA. I enjoy teaching and the challenge presented by a subject such as physics, where a student`s conceptual understanding is just as important as the maths.
Availability: I can do an hour or so on a weeknight, from around 16:30. I may be available for weekends. Please ask as work commitments change.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: Teaching secondary school students, from year 7 all the way to year 13. Currently the head of the Physics Department at a comprehensive secondary school. Six years teaching in schools, delivering science GCSE (core, additional and triple award) as well as Physics A-level.

Lawrence gave a one-off tutorial to my son on GCSE Chemistry, aiming to assess any difficulties he might he having with the subject. Although it was only a one-off session, they were able to cover a lot of material in the session and my son "learned a lot". At the end Lawrence was able to give an honest and fair assessment of my son`s abilities and progress - it was reassuring for my son and for us as his parents and Lawrence didn`t push us to continue with tutorials. Lawrence is very personable and was able to strike up a good rapport with my son. He was well prepared for the session having asked in advance what topics we would like to cover and very adaptable to my son`s needs. As this was only a one-off I have given four stars rather than five but I would have been very happy to continue with Lawrence if we had decided this was the right path, and I would also recommend him to others. Lawrence also specialises in Physics and is teaching in a London secondary school so knows the syllabus and the learning needs of students extremely well.

Lawrence is tutoring my son in A level physics on a weekly basis . He teaches in a clear concise and friendly manner providing knowledge and insight that is really improving my sons understanding of the subject.

My son has had couple of lessons with Lawrence. My son is happy with him. We tried so many different tutors until we found Lawrence, and are happy to continue lessons with him until the exam.
