Vanessa

Hello,

I`m Vanessa, originally from Italy. I`m a positive person with a strong interest in Linguistics and Classics. I spent five years studying Latin and Ancient Greek at Liceo B. Cavalieri, a high school specialising in classical studies in Italy. After that, I graduated in Classics (Latin and Greek) from the University of Pavia. During my time there, I covered various subjects including Italian, Latin and Ancient Greek literature, grammar, and history of the language, as well as general linguistics, classical archaeology and epigraphy.

In 2016, I moved to the U.K. to work as an au pair. Later, I pursued a Master`s degree in Ancient History at UCL, which I successfully completed. I also obtained a teaching qualification, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Cambridge.

Since September 2018, I`ve been working in secondary schools, where I`ve been passionate about teaching.

Availability: I am generally available Mon-Fri 16:30-20 and on Saturdays.

Experience: I have been tutoring Italian, Latin and Ancient Greek since 2012 both in Italy and England. Over the years, I have tutored many students (kids to adult learners) at different stages of their learning process and with different needs and goals.

My experience in Classical Subjects range from:
- Latin and Greek at KS3
- Latin and Greek in preparation for the Common Entrance exam
- Latin and Greek OCR GCSE
- Latin at OCR A-Level and IB Diploma (SL and HL, including new syllabus)
- OCR Classical Civilisation (World of the Hero, Love and Relationship)

My experience in Modern Foreign Languages:
- I have taught and tutored Italian to primary school children, KS3, GCSE, A-Level, Ab Initio IB
- I have taught Spanish at KS3 and GCSE level.
