Information about Anna
Anna is a French and Spanish graduate with a PGCE in French and Spanish and currently teaches 11-18 year olds with a particular focus at GCSE and A level in both languages. After working in the hotel and pharmaceutical industry in corporate sales and marketing roles Anna decided to return to her first love of languages and completed her PGCE in 2019. Anna has since taught in public and private education and currently teaches at an independent school in Surrey. Anna is also an AQA examiner.
Availability: Some evenings and after-school, Thursday and Fridays, some Saturday mornings.

Experience: Anna has taught Spanish and French privately online and face to face for five years, and also in private and state secondary education for the last four years. Anna loves to support students who need a boost be that in speaking, listening or writing skills, and has a personable, patient and student-centered approach. Students feel at ease with Anna and she is able to effectively tailor their learning to suit. Anna uses a range of resources to ensure students achieve their objectives and she regularly uses metacognition as a teaching strategy. Anna continues her own learning by regularly spending time in hispanic and francophone countries and this helps to keep her teaching content current.

Anna is currently private tutoring my 15 year old son who is studying GCSE French AQA syllabus at school. Her initial focus was to identify areas in which he needed additional support (speaking and listening) so that the lessons concentrated on these skills. Each lesson is well structured and planned with relevant supporting materials sent prior to the lesson. She has also been fleixble with lessons to give additional support prior to his school assessments. I would defnitely recommend her as a tutor.

Anna really helped my daughter’s confidence with her French GCSE. Before starting her sessions with Anna, my daughter was struggling to grasp the basics but Anna really helped her to develop her foundation skills, and worked on answering a range of exam questions with her. My daughter commented that Anna had taught her more in her 10 or so sessions of tutoring than she had been taught at school for the last 2 years! Anna was warm and approachable and I would highly recommend her.
