I went to St Paul`s Girls School and LSE.
I can tutor GCSE or A-level English and A-level or university level Philosophy.

I enjoy explaining things to people and bringing them alive by telling stories or explaining a multi-faceted, contradictory or abstract concept in a way someone isn`t anticipating. I believe this makes tough or dry concepts easier to unpack and holds my audience`s attention. I particularly enjoy doing this with young people or children as they are new to different ways of thinking and constructing arguments - in short, they are fresh, even if they feel the opposite of fresh when tackling a subject they find boring or hard to grasp. If they are struggling, all the better, as I enjoy the challenge of trying to bring something alive to someone who is straining to `get it`. I attended St Paul`s Girls` School and LSE and in both places felt my intelligence headbutt against things others seemed to understand easily. I had to learn about learning itself and what methods suited me best. My occasional struggles meant I learned deep - once I had completed the learning, the mental muscles were permanently stretched. I believe these experiences have made me very attuned to an individual`s needs and stress levels. I seek to push and encourage but also to bring pacing and relief. Philosophy and English literature are among my favourite things to read and both changed the way I think and argue forever.

Experience: 2018 (winter): Supervised A-level student’s mock exams taken at home in History and Economics (private client).

2017-2018: Weekly sessions preparing a second year Philosophy undergraduate at Kings College London with a 2:1 average for her module on Kant and Hume. Assisted the preparation of her essay on Russell & Frege. She received a high first. (private client).
