Information about Ezi
The wow moments of `OOH.... that makes sense now!` should happen every lesson, and that`s what I strive to achieve.
By choosing this qualified and experienced teacher for your tuition needs you will have someone who:
*understands how specifications work and has been reading between the lines to interpret them for a long time!
*knows the areas of possible misconceptions inside out and has tried and tested strategies to address them
*understands the exam system and how best to prepare for it
*provides a new perspective on each topic which will help understanding
*has been teaching for over 20 years and has learnt a thing or two in the process - both about chemistry and about getting the best out of students!
I now teach mainly A level chemsitry, but there may be some availability for GCSE students in the after school period.
Availability: I`m available to teach between 8:30am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience. I hold a first class honours degree in Chemistry, PhD and PGCE. I won a national prize for the teaching of Chemistry early in my career.
I have been DBS vetted.
I taught at St. Paul`s Girls` School in London for 12 years before moving to Oxford with my family in 2010 and starting to tutor full time.
During the last 7 years I have met all sorts of students in all sorts of situations:
A level weekly or fortnightly tuition
A level retake in a year
Home-schooled A level over 2 years
Home-schooled A level over 1 year
GCSE regular weekly or fortnightly tuition
Home-schooled GCSE
University preparation including advice with personal statements in the sciences / med / vet areas and interview practice for applicants to chemistry degrees.
While I do not have any particular SEN training, I have taught students with ADD, ADHD and severe anxiety as well as those with dyslexia or dyspraxia. In a one on one setting the pace is tailored to you and I usually find that this makes all the difference to every student I teach.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss things further. If you are looking for regular tuition, the first lesson is free.
I should also add that I do discount my hourly rate if students are from state secondary schools in Oxford.
