Information about Charlie
I am currently a medical student at UCL, having previously attained first class honours in BSc Biomedical Science. In the last 5 years, I have applied to medicine as both a school leaver and undergraduate student, and obtained a total of 7 offers in the process.
I am a friendly and supportive teacher who has excellent experience with both school exams and standardised tests such as the UKCAT and BMAT. I achieved a total of 10 A*s at GCSE, and an A* and A in A level biology and chemistry respectively.
In addition, I have degree level knowledge in biomedical science.
Availability: I am available on many Saturdays and all Sundays (with a few exceptions), but I am also flexible with times during the week. With enough notice I will be able to make most times after 5pm from Monday to Friday.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am currently studying medicine at UCL, having previously attained first class honours in BSc Biomedical Science from St George`s University of London. I achieved A*AB at A level, in Biology, Chemistry and Maths respectively. At GCSE I received 10 A*s, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English Language and English Literature.
Tutoring students of years 7-9 in English at my former school helped me to achieve the Literacy Leaders award - this involved running literature and creative writing workshops and presenting to classes of 30 students.
Another valuable teaching experience I had was at the Riverside Youth Centre in my hometown Canterbury, where I taught basic numeracy skills to young refugees. Thus, I enjoy teaching a diverse range of people. I am confident in my ability to convey information and improve core skills effectively.
