I have achieved Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Loughborough University and have gained experience in teaching and research.
My philosophy of teaching chemistry is derived from observing the teaching methodology of several excellent professors, mentors, and seminar speakers from whom I had the privilege to learn. Knowledge cannot be transferred directly from the teacher to the learner, so the teacher must depends on his own experience and ability to inspire and facilitate learning in each student. The role of a teacher is to pass knowledge to the students in an accurate, exciting, and stimulating way.
I have taught GCSE, A-Level courses, general chemistry, organic chemistry and reaction mechanisms. I try my best to build up the theoretical concept in the mind of students and develop models to explain the subject. I pose many questions to students and encourage them to participate and be fully engaged during lessons. These questions prompt students to think about the course material in ways that promote learning. I ask students to make predictions, provide explanations and speak about their experiences. These interactions help me to understand that students are following my instructions.
I have taught AQA, Edexel and OCR syllabus to GCSE and A-Level students around Burton area.
