Lorraine

Hello my name is Lorraine. I am a qualified primary school teacher. I have been teaching for 25 years. During my career I have taught years three, four, five and six.

I am a mum of two girls, and I live in Leatherhead. I currently teach one to one at a small private school in Ashtead. I am the SENCO there and also apart of the senior management team. I graduated from Froebel College, the University of Roehampton, with a BA honors degree in English and with the qualified teacher training status, in 1994. I have managed the English, pshe, drama and history curriculum during my teaching career in a three form entry primary school.
I can offer English and maths for primary aged children, helping to bridge any learning gaps, enabling pupils to cope more with the demands of the new national curriculum. I offer lessons for the 11 plus entrance exams. I can also offer test preparation for the new curriculum year 6 tests. I believe that lessons should be fun and engaging as well as fully focused on the learning objective. I have access to a wide range of resources and use a range of teaching strategies. I will provide a planning overview , as well as weekly feedback on progress.

Availability: Most weekday evenings and Saturday, and I can travel to your home or I can teach at my home. Snacks and drinks provided.

Experience: I have been teaching key stage 2 for twenty years at a school rated "outstanding" by Ofsted twice. Recent lesson observations have rated my teaching good with outstanding features. I have been providing one to one tuition for 2 years for English, Maths and the 11 plus. My students have made good progress and gained in confidence in their particular areas of weakness. All my students have passed their 11 plus exams.

I have also been a KS2 SATS marker for 2 years.
I am currently the SENCO at a small private school that offer a bespoke education for children with special educational needs.
