Information about Jen
I am interested in hearing from disadvantaged 4-6 grade GCSE students and B-C grade A-Level students who have serious ambitions to achieve higher grades.
Everyone who has studied maths astronauts, engineers, billionaires, even your teacher has, at some point, felt stupid and confused. Why? Because it is challenging. My job is to help guide you through difficult topics that were developed by very bright people but success requires equal effort from you. If you want to achieve your goals, it isnt enough to believe in something, you have to be willing to work hard for it too.
I will work with you on a 1:1 basis. Lessons are structured around your exam-boards specification and individual needs. I work hard to teach maths in an enjoyable way and will always explain the real-world application of topics you are learning.
A typical session consists of a 10-15 minute introduction to the topic, 20-minutes of topic-based questions (to assess gaps to knowledge), 10-15 minutes of exam-based questions, and 10 minutes explaining the key specification points learned (and how to revise for this). Students will be encouraged to ask questions throughout the session.
