I am a professional accountant based in Knaresborough, with an ACA qualification from the ICAEW, as well as a degree in mathematics from the University of East Anglia. I have a lot of experience in tutoring in mathematics, having done this between 2012 and 2015, at which point I started my own ACA qualification.

I am happy to tutor maths or ACA, either in person or online.

I feel that the best way a student will perform better at a subject is if they understand the principles and theory behind what they are being asked to do. If I were trying to teach a student how to answer a certain type of question, I would begin by helping them to understand WHY they are being asked to do these things, and what use these techniques could have in the "real world." I would then help them understand simpler examples and make sure they were confident with these, before helping them to extend their techniques into more complicated things.

Availability: Currently I am available on weekday evenings and all day weekends.

Experience: I have extensive experience of tutoring people for A level Maths from when I was in the first year of University. I have achieved top grades in GCSE Maths and GCSE Statistics, as well as top grades at A Level Maths and A Level Further Maths.

Post university, where I completed a BSc in mathematics, I worked with a number of students in my local area at the time, on both GCSE and A Level specifications.

In terms of the ACA, I completed the qualification myself with all first time passes. I am a trained facilitator and learning manager for my company, with responsibility for ensuring all new students are given the training and help they need to perform their roles.
