Information about Katherine
I am a 21-year-old third-year student studying BA Economics and Politics at the University of Nottingham. In my first year, I averaged a 2:1 and in my second year, I averaged a 1st. I have A levels in Economics, Mathematics and English Literature. I also completed an Extended Project Qualification and achieved an A grade. I can tutor Mathematics and English for levels up to and including GCSE to improve the student`s performance. Also, I can tutor GCSE and A level Economics. Furthermore, I completed a 120-hour TEFL course. Therefore, I can help tutor those who need help with learning English as a secondary language.
Availability: I am not currently taking on any more students.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I worked at a tuition centre for 8 months tutoring children from the ages of 4-16 in Maths and English where I adapted my teaching methods for different students.
Additionally, I have led on a weekly basis a Succeed in Secondary Plus class where I worked on planning and teaching material in Maths and English topics specific to GCSE students.
My experience at this company has been invaluable in improving not only my teaching skills, but my resilience and adaptability.
Furthermore, my experience working with Special Educational Needs children allows me to help every child be successful in succeeding academically regardless of any learning difficulties.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate.
I worked as an activity instructor for Supercamps where I arranged and carried out sessions for a number of different activities for children aged 4-12. This has improved my planning skills and helped me to engage children from all different backgrounds and abilities.
I have completed a 120-hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course where I studied and completed assignments in the following modules:
English Grammar
Teaching Methodology
Video Observation course
Teaching large classes
Telephone teaching
This helped me to plan effective lessons to students and understand a variety of teaching strategies.
