Information about Emily
I have a PGCE and a Master of Philosphy in English Literature. I have 15 years teaching experience in varied environments. I am passionate and enthusiastic about English Literature and enjoy helping students fulfill their potential.
Over the years I have been teaching, all of my pupils have succeeded. I am delighted to report that for 2015, 6 out of my 7 students gained an A* or A in English. In 2013 and 2014 100% of my students exceeded all expectations and went up 2 grades 80% gaining an A or A*.
Availability: I am available in the evening and at weekends

Experience: I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching English Literature to young people and adults for the past 15 years from 11+ to degree level.I have taught 2nd and 3rd year modules at degree level and have also taught adult learners at The Centre for Continuing Education. Feedback from my teaching has, without exception, been rated as excellent.I also teach GCSE English to pupils who are `talented and gifted` and require additional intellectual stimulation as well as teaching to pupils who find the subject more difficult. In addition, I have successfully guided numerous private pupils through GCSE and A Level English.

Emily is a fantastic tutor who helped my son exceed his expectations and achieve 9s in both English Language and English Literature. English is not his strongest, nor favourite subject and prior to engaging with Emily he was working hard and generally achieving B grades. His teachers felt he was capable of more but he seemed unable to progress beyond this level. Emily provided tutoring to improve his general English skills and to specifically address the techniques required to succeed in exams. Emily’s expertise and enthusiasm for her subject are evident, she has an excellent manner with teenage learners and is a pleasure to deal with as a parent. I would highly recommend her!

Emily is a legend and a miracle worker! She snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, and my son went up 2 grades in both his English Lit and Language in 3 months. She is a top tutor and we will be forever grateful.
