Information about Mike
I am an experienced, friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic teacher of 13yrs. I believe in fun and engaging activities to promote differenitiated learning across the curriculum.
I would be happy to offer support in any area that you may require support either in exam preparation, study techniques or overall raising of attainment.
I have a family with 2 young children whom I also tutor:) which has developed my affinity to work with younger pupils as I take my son through basic numeracy and literacy skills.
I currently work at Amery Hill school in the science department, with whom I have achieved a 90% pass rate (A - C) in this summer`s GCSE examinations something we hope to exceed this year:)
Availability: I am available 7 days a week between the hours of 17:00 - 20:00 Mon - Fri and 09:00 - 17:00 at weekends
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: In the 13yrs of my career I have worked primarily in the secondary sector with specialisms in Science, Physical Education and IT. However my career has given me a vast and diverse experience including teaching at primary school as well as at college, where I lectured both BTEC and A2 courses.

My year 10 son really enjoys his lessons with Mike which speaks volumes about Mike`s engaging manner. He has many different strategies to help students and it seems to be helping my son`s confidence as well as knowledge.

Mike tutored my daughter in all science subjects for some last minute cramming before her GCSE`s. It really gave her confidence a much needed boost and made her focus on exam technique. She was very happy with the grades she achieved and is now studying chemistry and biology at A level.

Even though my son has only had a handful of sessions with Mike, I can honestly say we cannot praise him enough! a 16 year old boy is not the easiest to motivate, but Mike certainly makes him work! my son even asks when is his next session!
