Information about Paul
I am a retired Head of Geography from one of the leading independent girls schools in the north west of England. I have more than 30 years experience of teaching pupils from Years 7 to 13, including IB. I have marked A level and GCSE papers and have also written an A level and a GCSE textbook as well as many other publications. I have given private tuition to a number of students in the past - all obtained excellent results. I set high standards and always try to build a relaxed and supportive rapport with my students. At the same time I hope they will enjoy learning and develop an interest in Geography.
An introductory visit / lesson is half price.
Availability: Available Monday to Friday - possibly Saturday mornings.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I often have have five / six students per year. In the past most have been studying for A levels and were using a variety of exam boards - AQA, OCR, Edexcel, Cambridge International and WJEC. I have given support to GCSE students during 2016/17 and 2018/2019 (and of course taught GCSE Geography for over 30 years).
The requirements of students have varied and range from ....
home tutoring for the whole of the A2 year,
home tutoring for the entire A level (Edexcel) course (except NEA)
to exam technique support and help with understanding areas of a specification.
Most of my lessons since the pandemic have had online lessons. Although in some respects this is not ideal, it has worked well particularly for some students who have tended to be quiet / shy. I would go as far as to say that the experience of getting comfortable with an online approach could be useful experience for the future (careers etc).

Feedback For Paul (40)

Paul was an amazing tutor. He guided and helped my daughter to get A* grade from her predicated B grade. His tutoring style, extra sessions, support and valuable tips were great help throughout her A Level journey. He helped my daughter to improve her writing skills and time management. He worked greatly on weaknesses to boost the confidance. I would be glad to recommend him as a tutor for Geography.
Tutors Response :
Hello Manjusha
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. So glad as you know that Neha obtained an A * and her place at her chosen university.
I think you have mistakenly thought that one star was the highest rating to give me. Would you kindly change this to 5 stars.
Kind regards
Paul

Paul was a great tutor, he had a wide range of resources available (e.g. geofiles, questions, factsheets, etc.) and was able to provide helpful feedback for essays. He was also able to explain difficult concepts in a detailed way which made them easier to understand.
