Information about Grace
Grace is an Acting, Vocal and Performance Coach, singing teacher, Hypnotherapist and professional vocalist based in South Cumbria.
Following her training in professional Musical Theatre at The MTA in London, Grace worked professionally in theatre, musical theatre and theatre in education, in both the UK and abroad.
Throughout this time Grace continued to study the voice and developed her understanding of vocal production and vocal health. She also continued her previous work, coaching Acting, teaching drama and preparing young people for LAMDA exams.
After spending some time working as a Musical Theatre coach and vocalist in Guangzhou, China, she returned to her hometown in South Cumbria and founded Cumbria Curtain Call. Cumbria Curtain Call is a youth performing arts school specialising in bringing more accessible opportunities in communication and performing arts education to the local area. In addition to running workshops, classes and courses, she has also directed 10 full scale musical productions for both Cumbria Curtain Call and other local theatre groups, as well as a variety of other showcases, plays and productions.
In 2020 Grace established Footsteps to Theatre (FTT), a non profit branch of Cumbria Curtain Call that aims to connect young people to wider performing arts opportunities. Footsteps to Theatre ran their first major project 2019, facilitating a group of 25 young people (local to the South Cumbria area) to take part in the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They performed a short run of Oliver! Jr. at a Fringe Venue on the Royal Mile, as well as taking part in other Fringe activities and experiences. FTT raised full funding to pay for all young peoples places on the experience so that the opportunity was accessible to all those who wanted to take part.
Grace also runs Sing Space adult Musical Theatre choir and is a Sing Space recommended vocal coach.
In addition to her teaching, coaching and hypnotherapy work, Grace continues to work as a professional vocalist and to develop her professional skills, network and practise in all areas, regularly attending industry training, conferences and events.
Grace is currently studying an MA in Voice Pedagogy and Performance Coaching, as well as her certificate in Professional Vocal Habilitation.
