Currently I teach at Aspire-igen, a non-profit organisation that provides vocational courses for young people 16-19 year old. I also worked at Bradford College PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) as a HLTA. Before this, I taught functional skills and GCSE Maths and English at a sixth form college, The Maltings College. Prior to this post, I was employed by Kirklees College as Student Attendance & Achievement Officer. I offered IAG and made sure that the students were on track, their punctuality was good and there were no behaviour or other issues that may hinder their progress, I am able to teach Functional Skills and ESOL in Adult Education and also out of school activities/sports. I do youth work with disengaged youngsters and those with learning difficulties. I also hold a casual post with Kirklees Council as a Residential Care Officer. I taught Functional skills and JCP (Job Centre Plus)/ESOL classes at Leeds City College and EFL classes at Sheffield College.

I have taught Functional Skills at Wakefield College and as a Pastoral Tutor, I provided IAG and helped students develop transferable skills, work skills and managed Learning to Learn programme. I have also covered ESOL classes and taught Functional Skills and Independent Living Skills to students with varying needs at Leeds City College and prior to this, I taught learners with special educational needs at St. Anne’s (many came from deprived backgrounds some were homeless, ex-drug addicts or ex-alcoholics etc.) Before this, I was part of McDonald’s Academy and I have taught a Pre-Apprenticeship Course, Functional Skills and Adult Education at Rotherham College. I helped students to brush up their literacy and numeracy and employability skills so they could go on to full apprenticeship.
