I have a Joint Honours Masters Degree in English and History from the University of St Andrews and achieved A grades at A-Level in both these subjects. I`m passionate about my subjects and would love to help students gain more confidence and strengthen their skills in these areas to help them get the grades they want.

I`m highly professional in my approach and am able to draw on my extensive planning and organisational skills, gained from the last fifteen years’ work experience. I`m personable and am able to put people at ease through a friendly, informal manner. I’m patient and feel I am able to create a positive, encouraging and safe learning environment in order to get the best out of students.

English Language tutoring
I recently attained Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) accreditation (March 2021) and can help with numerous aspects of English Language - whether you would like to improve your skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking or whether you would like help with any aspect of grammar, from adverbs to tenses, I have an excellent grounding in this through which to support you. I am also trained in teaching young learners or students in Business English.

I`m very happy to teach students of all ages and would be happy to discuss your particular learning requirements in an initial online chat. From this, I can create a tailored lesson plan to meet specific learning needs to ensure students reach their goals.

English Literature / History tutoring
Majoring in both these subjects in my own academic career and gaining solid academic results, I’m very happy to work to specific syllabuses and specific texts / source material, coaching and supporting students.

Currently offering online tutoring only but potentially face-to-face tutoring in line with Government pandemic guidelines in the future (prices will vary accordingly, taking into account travel expenses).

Availability: Core tutoring hours:
Tuesdays: 10am - 4pm.
Wednesdays: 10am - 4pm.
Fridays: 10am - 4pm.

Can also offer weekends / evenings as required - to be discussed with tutee / their family.

Experience: Following the birth of my son and the current pandemic, I have decided to make a change of career. I have always been interested in the educational sector and am keen to pass on my knowledge and love of my key subjects, English (both Literature and Language) and History, and to support others who feel they need some help in these areas.

In my previous career, I have over ten years` experience in Internal and Staff Communications, Marketing, Fundraising and Stakeholder Engagement, during which time I have been able to use my extensive communication, planning, project management and organisation skills to good effect.
