Before leaving to become a full time professional private tutor, I taught and tutored English Language and Literature, Theatre Studies and the Extended Project Qualification at GCSE and/or A level for 20 years. I have been a full time tutor for 6 years now. I also have many years experience in marking the both the GCSE Literature and Language exams.

My specialism is in the area of GCSE English Language/Literature. I am equally adept at coaching both students/re-sitters who are struggling to pass and also securing high grades for those who need stretching. I like to focus on a mixture of confidence boosting activities (including proof reading skills) as well as rigorous exam paper practice.

I have an excellent success rate.

Since lockdown I have become a confident online tutor and aim to carry forward some of the benefits of online tuition after returning to face to face. My interest in this area is evidenced in that I have recently embarked on a Masters in Education specialising in Technology Enhanced Learning. I will graduate next year.

*Also STARTING IN SEPTEMBER 2021 I will be offering small group (6 max) tuition in AQA English Language exam coaching for those in year 11 at a venue in Chester. Maths will also be on offer (Edexcel). Tuesday and a Wednesday after school. This service will be £15 an hour. Please enquire if you would like more details on this service.

Experience: I have a 2.1 degree in English and a PGCE teaching qualification. I also have a level 3 qualification in Workplace Coaching.
