Hi! I`m Maya.
I`ve just moved back to Hackney after living in Spain (Madrid) for three years, working as an English teacher and private tutor. I am currently work as a youth advocate. . I am offering tutoring n Spanish (speaking, listening, grammar etc. both Latin American/ Castilian), English as a second language and Anthropology.
I am fluent in Spanish and have a basic level of Arabic, as well as an excellent knowledge of Anthropological theory and Ethnographic practice.
I make my lessons fun and active and am confident teaching all ages. In language lessons I focus on communication, and lots of speaking. I incorporate aspects of Spanish and Latin American culture to give you the fully rounded experience!

Currently I work as a youth advocate supporting young people to reach their potential. I worked as a private tutor for the past two years in Madrid-tutoring Anthropology, English as a second language and Spanish for foreigners. My students have been very varied in terms of what they have wanted: I have had students wanting to learn business English, help with particular exams, language for travel and help in Anthropology for essays and exams. I tailor every lesson to the students particular needs. I am confident with all ages, having worked from three years upwards. I hold a TEFL qualification, and a first class degree in Anthropology and Spanish, as well as having lived in Spain for three years.
