Shalena

Shalena is a widely experienced teacher and patient tutor with a friendly approach to tuition. Shalena attended the University of Manchester and graduated with a 2.1 in Pharmacology.

Outside of private tutoring, Shalena is head of KS4 & deputy head of science, responsible for KS4 curriculum at her current school. Being a current science teacher she understands in far more depth the common misconception`s & challenges learners face in science.

She has rich experience with most exam boards including AQA, OCR, Edexcel & IGCSE. Currently she teaches KS3 & KS4 General Sciences and she is a specialist teacher of triple science & A level Chemistry.

Shalena enjoys travelling, keeping fit and is a keen foodie.

Availability: Due to Covid-19 I am currently only offering online sessions.

I am available weekdays Mon - Thursday between 4-7pm.

Friday`s/weekends may be possible on request.

Experience: With over 7 years of teaching experience and 2 years of private tutoring, she has created a system where her first tutoring session focuses on identifying areas of difficulty with the pupil. She then creates unique customised sessions to help build (often much needed) confidence in the subject in order to improve attainment.

A specialty of her`s includes a focus on mastery & examination techniques. This includes mastering the recall of key knowledge & concepts, working through past papers and exam-style questions to enable the student to produce model answers and perform their best under pressure.
