Information about Christine
I like the challenges teaching brings. I particularly enjoy helping students to truly understand the basics of a question, problem or concept, as this is the best way for them to successfully build upon this knowledge to understand more advanced ideas on their own. To build confidence in the student.
I believe it is never too late to learn, so adult students are very welcome.
I prefer to tutor in the student`s home, so a parent or adult is on the premises during the lesson.
My fees are pitched to be affordable in this area of financial ups and downs, therefore I will travel to students bearing in mind the time and distance involved.
As a tutor I have experience of
Preschoolers - with Global Developmental Delay
Primary - 8 & 9 year old, support with basic maths
- 9 year old, 11+ entrance exams for private
education
- support and revision leading to Sats exams
- supporting statemented children
Secondary - Support for maths in years 7 to 9
- students sitting their Maths GCSE at both
Foundation and Higher levels
Adults - wanting to upgrade a Maths GCSE to gain a
place at university
Availability: By arrangement to fit into the timetable I already have with existing students.
I am available during the day in any of the school holidays and half terms.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have worked for 17 years in a pre-school and as the leader for 14 years.
I was the Special Education Coordinator (Senco) at the pre-school and enjoy helping children through their Individual Education Plans, and Statementing.
Prior to this, I qualified as a secondary school teacher with Geography and Mathemetics as my main subjects.
I have been a private tutor before, after graduating, teaching primary school Mathematics for children moving from infant to junior and junior to secondary, with tutoring to help children gain places into private education.

My daughter has started her lessons with Chris and loves them. She is not very confident with Maths and starting senior school made this even more daunting. Chris is brilliant, she`s calm and listens and explains at a pace to suit, always ensuring my daughter understands. Her confidence is already growing, highly recommend Chris.

My daughter likes Christine as her teacher and she`s learning a lot in the lessons. Christine is aware of how to help my daughter to get much better GCSE results
