I`m a qualified Physics teacher with a Physics degree from Salford University and a PGCE from Keele University. For several years I taught the 11-18 age range as a secondary school Physics and Science teacher before leaving to work in the IT sector - and returning later as a supply teacher in both the private and state sectors.

I believe that building a student`s confidence in a subject is the key to enabling successful learning. I seek to first understand the student`s base knowledge and level of confidence in a topic, before carefully building their understanding and assurance via the use of appropriate analogies and reinforcement activities.

Availability: Any weekday (daytime or evening).
Saturday daytime.

Experience: BSc Pure & Applied Physics Salford University 1982. PGCE Secondary Science Keele University 1985.
3 years` experience teaching Physics at GCSE and A level and KS3 science at Weston Road High School, Stafford 1985-1989.
Completed Training & Development Agency approved Return to Teaching course at Bury College 2009.
Worked as a supply Physics teacher 2009-2010 at high schools in both the state and private sectors, including a 3 month placement at Oldham Hulme Grammar School, including Year 11 GCSE preparation.
