Who am I?

I am British and I live in Bristol with my husband and two young children. I am a creative and dynamic English as a foreign language (EFL) teacher who thrives on instilling a love of the English language. I have many years` experience in teaching English and a CELTA obtained from
International House, London. Since moving from Paris to Bristol in 2017, I have been delivering English lessons online. I work with both children and adults of any age. It`s never too early or too late to learn or improve on a foreign language! Not only will you learn a lot and gain confidence but you will also have fun along the way!

Children aged 3-11

Children learn through play. By using games, art, songs, and stories, learning English is a fun and positive experience. My aim is to get my little learners passionate about English for life!

Children aged 12-18

My positive and engaging approach will get your child speaking English with confidence! I can help with homework and with any areas of the English language which the learner is finding challenging.

Adults

Whether you need to use English for business conversations, to make friends, or on holiday, I will design the course according to your specific needs based on a detailed needs analysis. Interactive activities will help you build your confidence and fluency while learning new words and structures.

Availability: I am available from 9am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as from 9am to 2.30pm on Thursday.

Experience: I have worked as an online EFL teacher since moving to Bristol in 2017. Before living here, I spent six years in Paris where I worked as an EFL trainer for Intercountry-ICB, coaching employees face-to-face at companies across Paris. I taught learners of all levels from beginner to advanced at companies across Paris, with a particular focus on senior members of staff, such as the Advisor to the Chairman of the Board at BPCE SA and the President & CEO of SoftBank Robotics. I delivered individual and group lessons, intensive weeks, 2-day seminars, one-off workshops, TOEIC preparation courses, coaching, and coffee break sessions.

After a year at Intercountry-ICB, I was promoted to Pedagogical Co-ordinator. In addition to teaching a wide range of learners, I designed and developed pedagogical material. For example, I was in charge of developing, implementing, and managing our coffee break programme. I also carried out telephone evaluations to assess the level of new or returning students.

While in Paris, I also worked with children aged 3 to 14. For my younger learners, all learning was encouraged through play, with songs, games, and stories forming the basis of my lessons. For older children, I used fun activities to help them consolidate what they had learnt at school and to take them to the next level.

Prior to obtaining my CELTA in 2011, I worked for the charity sector for many years in a range of management and training positions. For example, as an employment and training co-ordinator, I supported refugees back into work through a combination of advice, training, and work placements.

My love of teaching first began thanks to my experience as a voluntary English teacher at a secondary school in Malawi during my gap year between school and university.
