Information about Mr Elahi
Hi there, I am a qualified Teacher of Computer Science. My PGCE was in Computer Science. I have been teaching in schools around London. I have taught KS3 Computing and GCSE Computer Science for the last two and a half years. I am a new teacher who understands the industry`s up-to-date teaching and learning strategies. I can tailor my lessons for pupils of all abilities. I understand that pupils may have special educational needs, and I am equipped to teach with that in mind.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: The use of Questioning leads to my teaching style. I engage pupils` long-term memory by using examples to help build bridges with complex topics. I teach my students how to think like an examiner; this prepares them to plan the exam and execute it. Mastering the art of exams is something overlooked by many pupils. Learning how to sit an exam can increase your mark by 10%. Computer Science has omany subject keywords the pupils find challenging to on. I believe that getting the pupil to understand and Comprehend will allow the keyword to go from working memory to long-term memory. I ensure that the pupil does not go through cognitive overload. I will simplify complex concepts into simple bitesize versions so the pupil can develop a deep, routed understand ending. I use Retrieval practice, where I will connect to previously taught topics to ensure pupils retainains previous knowledge.
My top tips to my pupils;
" If you do not plan, you are planning to fail."
" Noone is born a genius"
" Read it five times, five separate times - You will understand."
" Learn the keywords - You will pass the course."
