Information about Pascal
I have been involved in language teaching for the past 22 years and love to enthuse others in learning French. I have taught GCSE and A level French in several local schools to great success.
I feel that the ability to communicate effectively in the language is the most important aspect as it not only builds confidence and increases enjoyment, but also motivates all language learners to want to learn more.
I am able to offer tuition to KS3, GCSE and A level students to help them gain the best possible grade in their exams and I am about to enrol as an examiner for AQA GCSE and Edexcel A level.
I also work with people who just want to learn to communicate effectively in French to improve their experience when travelling to Francophone countries. I understand that confidence is a major factor in success in speaking in a foreign language and I personalise my teaching to develop that confidence in the people I teach. I am happy to negotiate a rate for groups of learners.
Availability: I am available most afternoons and evenings during the week and can also do Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I am half French and, having spent a lot of time in France, am also a fully fluent French speaker. I have a degree in French and a PGCE in Modern Languages. I was a teacher for 22 years and spent 8 years as Head of Languages at a local school where consistently strong exam results placed us in the top 3% of schools nationally for progress in languages. This was achieved through a focus on communication and enjoyment of language learning which motivated students to succeed.

Reliable, empathetic and an excellent tutor
Pascal is an excellent tutor, experienced, engaging and fun, he is a genuine person and puts a great deal of passion in his work. Being a bilingual French/English native speaker allows him to switch between the two languages naturally with perfect diction whilst relating with the mother tongue of his student and its intricacies. Over the past few months Pascal showed flexibility moving swiftly from face to face lessons onto the new zoom reality but also allowing changes in timetable to fit in with the busy schedule of my kids and us parents. Under his wing my kids have grown more confident in expressing themselves in French and they eagerly look forward to their lesson with Pascal. My eldest is only 13 but he is now tackling A level material and my youngest (11) is growing steadily week after week in confidence consolidating grammar points and talking in French! Two different programmes for two very different kids and both enjoy their lessons. I have no hesitation in recommending Pascal as a professional teacher and as a really nice person.
Pascal is a real professional. Hes got an amazing motivational skills working with teenagers, is patient but demanding in the right way. He does have a good knowledge and experience with exam boards. We have seen a real improvement in the quality of French results at school.
Excellent tutour. Pascal tutored my daughter for two weeks before her French GCSE oral exam. Organised, knowledgable and adaptable to my daughter`s needs, Pascal gave her confidence and support right up until the night before. Pascal is good-humoured and passonate about French, making learning fun rather than a chore. Would highly recommend.
Pascal is extremely professional. He has been tutoring my son A level French for the past few months now and we have really seen a marked improvement in my son`s French speaking and written work. He tailors the lessons to suit my son`s ability and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone looking for a french tutor who, not only knows the language very well, but teaches it to a very high standard.
Although I only had six lessons with Pascal due to a relocation, I felt that I made some very good progress during our sessions. Pascal encouraged me to speak as much as possible, and made notes of any errors so we could go over them afterwards (which I appreciated as it did not disrupt the flow). He also provided a range of resources that I could use in the lesson, and worksheets to go through to practice what I`d learned each week.
I would 100% recommend Pascal as a tutor; he was incredibly supportive and I really feel that my French has improved thanks to our lessons. I`m looking forward to building on the progress that I`ve made and feel that I have a solid foundation to work from. Thank you Pascal! :)
