I have spent the past nine years teaching Philosophy, Religious Studies, and English in some of the country’s leading independent schools; helping students to think critically and communicate with confidence. I hold a BA in Philosophy and Education from Durham University; a PGCE; and an MEd from the University of Cambridge.

As an AQA Philosophy A Level examiner and AQA GCSE Religious Studies examiner, I bring a clear understanding of how to meet and exceed assessment criteria; ensuring my students write with precision and insight — a key skill for success at GCSE and A Level.

Availability: I offer regular weekly tuition as well as shorter, focused four lesson courses for those who want to strengthen exam technique or refine essay structure.

My approach combines high expectations with calm, clear guidance that allows students to think for themselves and approach Philosophy and Religious Studies with independence and confidence.

Experience: Philosophy and Religious Studies can be demanding but, when taught well, it becomes one of the most rewarding subjects a student can study. I help students unpack complex ideas in engaging ways, appreciate nuance and express their understanding with clarity. My teaching combines academic rigour with a supportive and structured approach, and I have a proven track record of helping students achieve results they once thought out of reach.

I have taught KS3 English at a leading boarding school in Oxfordshire and now help students structure their essays and develop strong written arguments.
